Snack time!

The home-made hummus with carrot sticks:

Hummus is super easy to make yourself and as many of the shop-bought varieties are full of preservatives it is fantastic to whip it up yourself. I put the following ingredients in mine:

  • 1 or 2 cans of chickpeas (I’m sure it would be preferable to soak the dried variety, but who really has the time?)
  • 1 or 2 lemons, juiced
  • Olive oil, a good slug of
  • Fresh garlic, at least 2 or 3 cloves
  • Tahini paste
  • Optional: ground cumin

Blend up all the ingredients with a stick blender until smooth

Oh it’s so good! Just warn your friends or induce them to eat it at the same time otherwise you’ll be the only one in your group with the odious breath!!
